Gary Ross and Jennifer Lawrence talk to EW about nominations, bonding and Catching Fire

With less than two months to go before the March 23 premiere ofThe Hunger Games, the first installment of Suzanne Collins’ breathlessly addicting Mockingjay trilogy, director Gary Ross is already predicting the possibility of another nomination for his 21-year-old star Jennifer Lawrence come next year’s Oscars. “The range in this performance, the emotional terrain that she investigates, the demands of what this role are,” he raves of Lawrence’s portrayal of series heroine Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old forced alongside other children into a televised fight-to-the-death. “It’s such an intensely physical role and an emotional one. She carries the entire movie. To be able to do that at that age is so kind of incredible that I was in a little bit of awe. Do I think she should be nominated? Absolutely.” 

Ross and Lawrence bonded hard on the 83-day shoot, weathering the sweltering North Carolina heat and afternoon storms together. “We were all a family,” says Lawrence. “Everything that I love about the movie, and everything that got me to say yes to this movie, was Gary.” On set, however, she says Ross liked to float the possibility of him leaving everyone in the hands of a new director. “He wanted me to worry about it, because he enjoys my anxiety,” she says with a laugh. “That was a huge, huge thing that he used to lure over my head. Like a bastard!” Lawrence says that because of the tremendous rapport enjoyed by the cast and crew, she always assumed Ross would sign on again for Catching Fire, but it was still a hand-wringer. “I still don’t know for sure,” she says. “Is he definitely doing it?” she asks EW. 

Ross, while attached to direct the next installment, still hasn’t officially confirmed his involvement. But he did share with EW his love for the material that most likely awaits him.SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! “I love the title Catching Fire because from the moment Katniss was willing to eat the berries,” he says, “the moment she was willing to give her life for something larger than herself, she set off a chain reaction that was at once bigger than her and also because of her. That’s a very exciting movie to make because you’re seeing the emergence of a leader. It’s the birth of a revolution so it has context that’s larger than just the Games themselves.” 

There’s a risk when signing onto a franchise, especially one as beloved and anticipated asThe Hunger Games, that the weight of an iconic role will leave the star herself feeling crushed. Lawrence herself sounds surprised herself by how ready she is to shoulder Katniss’ burdens once more. “Signing onto the movies I was like, ‘Well, I’ll probably love the first one and then I’ll just want to get the rest of them out of the way,’” she says. “But I can’t wait to start training. As soon as they were like ‘We need to start training in July,’ I was like ‘Woohoo!’ I can’t wait to get back.” She pauses to laugh. “Though I don’t know if that’s because I think we might shoot in Hawaii.” The tropical location would make sense, as much of Catching Fire‘s pivotal action takes place on a Capitol-constructed beach. Just yet another reason for Lawrence to look forward to the shoot.

Is 'Hunger Games' YA's Best Chance For A Best Picture Oscar? | MTV

Here is a very interesting article by MTV's Amy Wilkinson about The Hunger Games and the film series' chances for a Best Picture Oscar nomination next year and in the future:

"The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence set aside her flaming bow and arrow in favor of a gilded envelope Tuesday morning to announce the 2012 Oscar nominations alongside Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak. And sadly — though not entirely surprisingly for young-adult-literature aficionados — the "Harry Potter" franchise was once again (and for the final time) overlooked for a Best Picture nomination. 

Which raises the question: Does the Academy have something against YA adaptations?*
Curiously, adaptations have historically been strong performers at the Academy Awards. Past statuettes have gone to the literary likes of "All Quiet on the Western Front," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Silence of the Lambs." And this year's contenders are no different. Six of the nine Best Picture nominees, including "The Descendants," "Hugo," "The Help," "Moneyball," "War Horse" and "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," can be found lining the shelves of your local Barnes & Noble, while five of last year's 10 nominees were also based on bound works, according to USA Today. 

The side of the equation, then, troubling Academy voters seems to be the "young adult" variable. Though to be fair, there's not much of a precedent for awards recognition seeing as mining teen lit for film fodder is a relatively new phenomenon. Sure, there are exceptions like S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" (made into a film all the way back in 1983, starring Matt Dillon and Patrick Swayze), but for every "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" or "The Princess Diaries" there are tens (if not hundreds) of seminal works, like "The Catcher in the Rye" or "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret," languishing in pre-production hell or undeserved obscurity as far as film financiers are concerned. 

Which leaves us with "The Hunger Games," the latest YA sensation, which blazes into theaters in less than two months. And while it's hard to predict the awards-season viability of a movie we haven't even seen yet, there are at least a few indicators to suggest it could be the first YA novel adaptation to win (or at the very least be nominated for) Best Picture. For one, Oscar's already made acquaintance with many members of the cast and crew. Our friends at NextMovie crunched the numbers, discovering that the actors and technical experts behind "The Hunger Games" boast 30 Oscar nominations — even Effie Trinket couldn't turn her nose up at that. And while a film like "Twilight" (which, let's be honest, won't be sharing a feather-strewn canopy bed with the Academy anytime soon) focuses on a fantastical, star-crossed-lovers plotline, "The Hunger Games" deals more seriously with issues of life, death and government control, likely giving it more credence with voters.

Though most of the above could surely have been said of "Harry Potter," it apparently wasn't meant to be. Hopefully with "The Hunger Games" (and the slew of approximately 4 million teen novels in various stages of adaptation) the Academy will begin recognizing artful YA adaptations as the deserving films that they are. Because we already do.

*Whether, in fact, "Harry Potter" constitutes YA is a topic of much debate in and of itself, though for the sake of this piece, I assert that the final novel's dark tone and subject matter secure its spot at the teen table.  

If the movie is as well done as we think it'll be, we think it has a good chance. While we enjoy the Harry Potter movies, they weren't, say, Lord of the Rings caliber in terms of movie-making. The serious subject matter and the quality cast and crew could give The Hunger Games a chance. One thing that struck us is that the books themselves are very cinematic and they have the potential to translate well to film.

Josh Hutcherson advises Hunger Games fans and reacts to new still

While promoting Journey 2, Josh Hutcherson talked to MTV, giving fans of The Hunger Games advice on how to pass the time before the movie release. Also he reacts to the new still of Katniss and Peeta in their fire outfits.

 

So what are a few things fans can do to pass the time while they wait for the film to come out?
"A few, okay. Get prepared, it’s exciting. I know that much," Josh told us at the press day for his other upcoming adventure flick, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island." "I don’t know, I think maybe fans should think about what they would do in the Hunger Games and maybe send it to one of the fan sites, try to start that thing and talk about their strategies and what they would do to survive."

Did you picture yourself as Rue?

When I first read the book, I really didn’t picture myself as Rue. Then I read it again, and I did picture myself as her. She’s very musical, and very small like me, and very quick.

How are you musical?

I like to sing. I play guitar, violin, and drums.

Was Rue your favorite character when you were reading?

Rue and Foxface were my favorite characters, probably because they’re not necessarily bad. I loved Rue because of how musical and sweet she is. Now that I’ve read the book a few times, I actually like the character Clove a lot. She’s very skilled with how she can throw knives. And everyone loves Katniss!

How did you find out about auditioning for the role, and how did you prepare for it?

I heard that they were making a movie, and I already loved Rue. I called my agent repeatedly, saying, ‘Please, please, please get me an audition.’ After my many, many phone calls, they got an audition for me. That was my golden opportunity. I prepared and prepared, and I went in and met with the casting director, Debra Zane, who helped me, before I met with Gary [director Gary Ross].

What did you do to get into character and make yourself feel like Rue?

For my audition, I went to Gary’s house. To get prepared, I dressed up like Rue. I wore khakis and a T-shirt, and my mom had rolled around my clothes in the dirt before. And we put twigs in my hair and leaves all over me, and stains were all over my clothes. And I had a little wreath of flowers in my pocket that I thought Rue might have. That was in my pocket as good luck, and also a special rock. Those were my little tokens I thought Rue would have.

Did you show them to the director?

No, I didn’t. It was kind of like my special secret.

How many days was Suzanne Collins on set? And did she give you any pointers on Rue?

She was there for two days in the middle of shooting. It was so amazing to meet her – the creator of all this. We were doing a very traumatic scene, and I was kind of bawling my eyes out. I wasn’t quite sure if this was how Suzanne Collins imagined the scene. And so I talked to her, and she told me just that Rue was trying to be very strong for Katniss. She wanted Katniss to go on, so she tried to be very brave for Katniss. That was very helpful.

So did you cry less?

Yes.

Because you were trying to be brave?

Exactly.

Meet The Hunger Games Costume Designer!

Check out this nifty MTV article about the costume designer for The Hunger Games, Judianna Makovsky!

"This is one of those moments where Cinna's character syncs up with the creativity of our costume designer Judianna Makovsky," director Garry Ross told EW.
As if sitting front row at a Capitol-sponsored fashion show, fans have slowly but surely been treated to the growing catalog of Makovsky's "Hunger Games" looks — from Effie Trinket's lavender, silk brocade gown recently revealed on Capitol Couture to Katniss' and Peeta's futuristic training uniforms.

Even the most casual cinephile should recognize Makovsky's work. The Oscar nominee (and frequent Ross collaborator) is a Hollywood veteran with nearly 30 years of experience crafting iconic period and present-day looks for some of the silver screen's biggest projects. After toiling as a wardrobe assistant on films like "The Cotton Club" and "Dick Tracy," Makovsky took the lead, whipping together wardrobes for Tom Hanks' "Big" (which Ross wrote and co-produced) and "The Quick and the Dead." She earned her first Oscar nomination for Ross' 1999 retrosplosion "Pleasantville," starring Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon as two teens who time-travel back to the 1950s, necessitating more sweater sets and curve-hugging skirts than an Ann Taylor outlet. The result was an eye-popping collection of richly saturated confections, worthy of recognition by the Academy and the Costume Designer's Guild.

An Oscar-nominated semester at Hogwarts followed (yes, Makovsky dressed Harry, Ron and Hermione in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone") before she teamed up with Ross for the 2004 equestrian classic "Seabiscuit" (starring then-up-and-comer Elizabeth Banks, a.k.a. Effie Trinket). The costumer earned her third Oscar nom for the film's Depression-era garb.
A mishmash of films followed, including "National Treasure," "The Last Airbender" and "X-Men: The Last Stand" (perhaps the film in which she perfected her bodysuit construction), before she once again signed on with Ross for "The Hunger Games."

We've got news on Hunger Games figures and games announced today! From GameSalute:

WizKids Games announces three upcoming products centered around The Hunger Games movie (based on Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games trilogy): The Hunger Games Collectible Figures Single-Figure Boosters, The Hunger Games District 12 Strategy Game, and The Hunger Games Jabberjay Card Game. These three products will be available in March 2012, just in time for the airing of The Hunger Games movie. 

The Hunger Games Collectible Figures Single-Figure Boosters will feature 27 figurines from The Hunger Games movie. Collect every tribute, Gale, and two different versions of Katniss and Peeta! 

The Hunger Games District 12 Strategy Game will highlight storyline from the movie. Players will attempt to gather food, clothing, medicine, and more in efforts to avoid The Reaping.

CONFIRMED: Simon Beaufoy Writing Catching Fire Script, and Gary Ross Directing!

 Lionsgate's "Hunger Games" franchise is moving full steam ahead. While the first film in the planned trilogy won't hit theaters until March 23, work has already begun on its sequel, TheWrap has confirmed.

Simon Beaufoy ("Slumdog Millionaire," "127 Hours") is writing the script for "Catching Fire." Gary Ross, who directed "Hunger Games," will also direct the sequel and is supervising the writing of the script.

Lionsgate has announced that it's agreed in principle to buy Summit Entertainment for $412 milliion, combining Hollywood's leading minimajors. Lionsgate announced the deal at the close of the stock market Friday.

"Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger have built a remarkable organization, and we're pleased to welcome Summit's talented team to the Lionsgate family," the pair added.
In nabbing Summit, Lionsgate beat out other suitors such as Colony Capital.
Summit brings with it debt, but that will be paid off with profits from the final two “Twilight” movies, allowing Lionsgate to keep that sum off its own books.

The remainder was funded with $55 million of existing Lionsgate cash, $45 million of cash received from a newly issued series of Lionsgate convertible notes, $50 million of Lionsgate common stock and an additional $20 million of cash or stock to be issued at Lionsgate's option within 60 days.

In return, Lionsgate will get a modest library of titles that also includes “The Hurt Locker” and “R.E.D.,” which it can add to its paid TV network Epix. Perhaps more important, Lionsgate will gain Summit’s expertise in international distribution -- an area where it is lacking.

However, insiders at both studios feel that Summit’s experience in transforming the vampire "Twilight" series into a global box office phenomenon can help Lionsgate pull off a similar feat with "The Hunger Games." This could help turn the studio, a launching pad for mid-budget genre films, into a lekking ground for young adult film franchises.

Welcome to District 12 Stalk the People's Choice Awards

This was it! Our very first opportunity to catch a glimpse or possibly even meet our favorite Hunger Games people, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. More importantly, propose to Jennifer Lawrence that we be best friends.

Tiffany, Denise, and I showed up armed with our silly sign to attract attention and relieved that we were probably the only people there. We hung around for a few hours, and after a few frustrating conversations with security, finally figured out where the public was supposed to stand, which was right across the street from where the limos were to drop celebrities off.

At this point we were feeling good about our spot. Rumor was that people were gonna show around 3, but that didn't happen until much later. In the meantime we chatted about Hunger Games with people who had and hadn't read the books, thanked people who gave us compliments on our Hunger Games shirts, and our bestie even made our stakeout spot a foursquare check in.

At about 4:30, the limos started showing up! From here on, it was pure excitement, my heart almost could not contain it. Who was in this next limo? What if it's Jennifer? What will I say? So much anxiety was had between the three of us. I will say that there is one time I completely lost my composure and that was seeing Ewan McGregor waving happily in my direction. I believe I ended up blurting out something about how much I loved him because I was deeply in love with him in high school, and I swore to myself if I ever saw him I would speak of his awesomeness. All that came out was a bunch of words.  Oh well, so much for composure. Here's our account of our experiences with Jen, Josh, and Liam:

Josh: A shorter guy put on his jacket, but his back was to us. It was night at this point, and while staring into the bright lights, it became harder and harder for us to decipher who people were. I was pretty sure it was Josh, but a little afraid to call out to him. "JOSH!" I yelled. But he didn't turn around (most of the celebs turned around when you called their name). When I finally saw his profile, we continued to call his name because I was sure it was him. But nothing. A few minutes later we got confirmation it was him since every celeb that came onto the red carpet was announced. Disappointment. Out of all the celebrities in the world, he seems like the one who would turn around and wave. Maybe he didn't hear us, I don't know. I still wonder if he would have turned around had I addressed him as Peeta...

Liam: Oh, he was THE BEST. THE BEST! When we figured out it was him, it was hard to yell over everyone yelling for Miley. We yelled, "LIAM! LIAM!" and no acknowledgement. Well, I wasn't gonna have this happen twice. I had no other option, so I leaned over the barricade and yelled "GALE!!" as loud as I could. Just as he was about to vanish from sight, he turned in our direction and gave us a wave. It was a small wave, but it really meant a lot!!

Jennifer: Oh, Jennifer. How sneaky you are. Granted about half of the celebrities that were there did not arrive in the limo convoy. So she probably just walked around the building into the red carpet on the side where the quieter entrance was. The crew was just starting breaking down the red carpet when Denise said, "Who's that girl with the swishy pony tail? In the blue dress. Is that her? I bet you that's her." To which I tried locating said girl, but she had gone by that point. Her suspicions were confirmed when we located the released photo of what Jennifer Lawrence was wearing, precisely what Denise saw! So the night wasn't completely lost, we got a wave from Liam AND Denise managed to spot Jennifer!

We can't wait until the next time we can do this all over again!

NEW Gary Ross Interview!

 The best Gary Ross interview yet! In it he talks of just how important Jennifer Lawrence was to the film, The Capitol, and more in this LA Times Blog Post:

“I don’t know how I ever could have done this movie without Jennifer,” he said. “I’m not sure I would have done it without her. She’s that important. More important than any other piece — including me. She’s Katniss Everdeen.”

Ross was introduced to the novel by his then 14-year-old twins and became fascinated by the story’s premise and the evolution of its main character — from stoic survivor to moral linchpin for an oppressed nation. He flew to London to meet with the film’s producer Nina Jacobson and aggressively pursued the job.

“I thought the idea that the way we amuse ourselves could devolve into this hideous spectacle was really fascinating,” Ross said. “Plus it has all the things I love in the movies: technical challenges, size, spectacle, amazing narrative drive. And it has a lot on its mind about where we are and where we may be headed as a culture.”

Ross worked closely with “Hunger Games” author Collins on the final draft of the script and then spent four months in the mountains of North Carolina filming the dystopian action movie from every angle he could. “We were hanging off trees, hiking up mountains, shooting in rivers,” he said.

Beyond Ross’ attention to his young cast, which also includes Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale, Katniss’ hunting pal and closest friend, the director spent a great deal of time examining what first-person experience looks like on film, studying such movies as “Saving Private Ryan,” and “All the President’s Men.” Ross was intent on not giving audiences more information than what’s been given to Katniss.

“If you look at the opening of ‘Private Ryan,’ you are so in the point of view of those guys and there is a whole world swirling all around them,” Ross said. “You are learning that geography as they are learning it.”

Ross also spent many hours refining his vision for the Capitol. The home of the dogmatic central government that organizes the brutal games and oppresses its countrymen by forcing them to live in impoverished, dangerous conditions, the city and its architecture should be rendered without a trace of joy, Ross said.

Captiol Couture: Welcome To District 12 Receives Something From the Capitol!

Tiffany and I both received these in our mailboxes!

While we were out at the People's Choice Awards, Someone HAND DELIVERED this letter to my address. I didn't even know the postal service still did hand delivered things! Anywho, the letter was addressed to me along with a return address with the Capitol seal. Inside was the single business card shown above for Capitol Couture. We had been wondering what the password was for Capitol Couture and unfortunately, couldn't join in on the recent developments as we were too busy keeping an eye out for Jen, Josh and Liam. (Post on that adventure to be available soon!)

I want to take a moment to impart the quality of this business card. It is top notch quality, and there is even a "Capitol Sanctioned" water mark on the back. TOO COOL! I really have to say that The Capitol PN has done way more than I thought they were going to do with this viral marketing campaign. They have far exceeded expectations and are providing the coolest fan experience I have ever seen. Kudos to you, Lionsgate!

 Okay for the record, I totally tried #lookyourbest as the password when an image pulled from the source code was found. However, maybe The Capitol wasn't anticipating people to see that image that early so it wasn't able to entered. Anyway, onto Capitol Couture. How amazing is this image of Effie? I am really flabbergasted by this image. So beautiful, so outrageous, so.....Capitol! Seeing all this silk fabric reminds me of a moment in Mockingjay when Katniss buries herself in silked fabrics in a closet, I won't say where so as to not spoil anyone. But really if you can't be spoiled, why haven't you finished reading the series? Okay back to the subject. I love this detail, and LOVE the fact that it is a Tumblr site! You see so many different things on Tumblr, and even better we are on Tumblr as well! That is were Welcome to District 12 first started. So if you won't listen to me, at least listen to The Capitol PN! Get on Tumblr!

Song by The Secret Sisters may be on the Hunger Games Soundtrack

MTV is reporting that The Secret Sisters, a traditional country music duo, have said that their song "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" can be heard on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games.

The song by the country duo is a strangely auspicious pick for the movie about teens, far from home in a ruined world; it was written by the sisters in 2011, after they watched helplessly from Australia as their home state was ravaged by destructive tornadoes. And with their authentic, soulful country sound, Secret Sisters will be a fine addition to "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, which already includes contributions by Taylor Swift, Arcade Fire and The Decemberists—and, of course, a song recorded by Jennifer Lawrence herself.  

Sadly, there's no sneak peek to be had of "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder"; the song will be on their upcoming second album, and the version recorded with T-Bone Burnett (the composer behind "Hunger Games") will probably be under lock and key until the movie's release in March. But we'll keep an ear to the ground, just in case.

Suzanne Collins Almost Confirmed As An Executive Producer for ‘The Hunger Games’

Our friends over at Down with the Capitol have noticed something on the Lionsgate publicity site:

Today, while checking out Lionsgate Publicity, which has a bunch of official Hunger Games stills, press releases, etc, I noticed something called Fact Sheet with Synopsis. This fact sheet lists the main characters and corresponding actors, the movie synopsis, and behind-the-scenes production crew.  

Robin Bissell, Louise Rosner, and Suzanne Collins names are all listed as Executive Producers. But wait. Unfortunately, *credits not yet final is listed in the corner of the fact sheet. It’s not official yet, but we like the idea of an almost confirmation. Hopefully once the press junkets begin sometime in late February/Early March, the mystery of the Suzanne Collins/Executive Producer saga will be solved.

 Once it's confirmed for sure, we'll let everyone know!

Taylor Swift Working on a ‘Safe & Sound’ Music Video

Taylor Swift's father has revealed on his Facebook page that she is working on a music video for Safe & Sound:

Just back from Safe and Sound Video Shoot. I think it is by far the best I have ever seen. The scenery and shots are amazing as is Taylor walking barefoot across fields with rocks in cold weather. What a trooper. But it works! Stay tuned. I cannot wait for this one.

Elizabeth Banks talks about skeptics and her understanding of Effie and the Hunger Games series

In a recent interview, Elizabeth Banks discusses skeptical Hunger Games fans, developing her character and the darkness of the series.

About Hunger Games ... is your work totally done, except for promotion?
Yeah, we’re done. We’re getting ready to put it out in the world.

Have you seen any of it yet?
I’ve seen enough to know that the movie is amazing, but I haven’t seen any finished cuts.

I saw that you responded to a Twitter skeptic who hoped you wouldn’t “ruin The Hunger Games.” Are you ready to take on criticism from fans who might second-guess your portrayal of Effie?
I absolutely am, because here’s my answer: I worked with amazing Academy Award–nominated people in figuring out who Effie is, and most importantly, [author] Suzanne Collins blessed everything we did. So as long as Suzanne Collins is happy … I would say if fans wanna fight about it, they can fight with her.

I loved your response to the tweet: “I know, right?”
Oh yeah, well I love those kinds of things.

Did you yourself feel some trepidation about playing a character in a book you adore so much?
I didn’t. I was just so excited. I’m really excited about my portrayal. I like the voice — I worked really hard on the voice. The hair and makeup didn’t happen immediately. It was a couple days of playing and tweaking, and she really kind of suddenly appeared to us. If I could remove myself from the situation, I would be really excited by my portrayal of Effie.

As a fan, did you make any specific contributions to her character?
All the makeup was very collaborative. It was like, “Hey, when I read the book, I always imagined she was like this.” Everybody was like, “Yeah, I always thought she was this,” or “I thought she was this,” or “This would look better.” It was really a bunch of fans sitting around discussing what our visions were for everything. And then of course there are practical things, like I imagined District 12 — and they pretty much nailed it — like it was in the south in an old mining town. And that’s what we shot. And the Games actually blew me away. What I was imagining was too small.

Did you go as far as designing undergarments for Effie?
Judianna Makovsky is an Academy Award–nominated costume designer and she thinks of everything. We talked a lot about restriction. Even though Effie is sort of a free person, she is still contained and restrained and controlled by her life, so all my clothes are very cinched waists. There’s no full corset in anything, but they’re pretty corseted. And there was a lot of talk about making the shape of her look as good as possible. And despite the fact that I’m asked repeatedly if I’m wearing a butt pad, that was all me underneath the behind. My director was like, "Wow, you guys padded the butt?" I was like, “No, that’s my butt. That is 100 percent my behind.”

How dark does the movie get? Is it darker than Harry Potter at its darkest?
I think it’s appropriately toned for a PG-13 movie. You have to remember this isn’t a G. It’s not Disney. The book had a lot of adult themes, but we were very cognizant of making sure that what you’re connected to are the characters, that you understand it’s life or death for this girl. She wants to go back to her family and she wants to take this boy with her. And it’s also the message that you matter, that the act of a single person can set off a revolution. I think we’re seeing that all over the world right now. It’s very timely, and I think it’s such a great message to give.

I kind of teared up at the end because I got that she really is a fan of the series and has a great understanding of it. I find myself becoming more and more of an Elizabeth Banks fan.
